yesterday i had the very fortunate and wonderful opportunity of celebrating my 30th birthday with my family (well, minus my middle brother Daniel, which is sad. but he's in colorado).
the first go around, i only celebrated with my baby brother, Ben and our friend Marcus, at his place, watching the Big Lebowski and drinking White Russians.
then, the ensuing weekend, i had the fantastic opportunity to fly to St. Louis to spend time with my girlfriend and her family, where i got to have three, count 'em, THREE dinners.
it was kinda crazy.
oh, and i also got to go see a chiropractor and massage therapist and herbalist.
that was great.
but yesterday i got to be with most of the immediate fam.
i slept in, did some more photo shoot work for a Lactaid campaign, had a late brunch, went to see The Town with my Momma and broseph, came back home to promptly eat the fantastic dinner my dad made. then we had presents, at which time i got packs of underwear and undershirts (to which i responded: "underwear at thirty is better than Depends!"), a coupon for $150 towards photography equipment, a coupon for a roundtrip ticket to St. Louis or Dallas (or equal cost destination) and, from Ben, a copy of
Earth (the book) : A Visitor's Guide to the Human Race
awesome.
here are some pictures from the day yesterday with my family ... well, the food anyway.
some of my favorites:
brunch --> pecan waffles, sausage and orange juice with pulp.
dinner --> natural ribeyes, grilled squash and asparagus, fully loaded baked potatoes and, for desert pecan pie, OF COURSE!
more non-birthday related posts to follow.
