yes, i hyphenated that.
because it should be.
you should read it as one word, with a pause.
anyway, creativity is incredible.
i am always impressed when people are creative.
in every way.
whether it's industrial design or movies and music.
all of it inspires awe in me.
and that is where creativity is even more amazing to me.
that it isn't just amazing to see someone else be creative.
when you see that person (or the creative product of that person) do/say something creative, it almost inherently makes you think in a more creative way.
or at least it does for me.
they even did a study on this recently, comparing peoples responses after showing them the IBM logo and the Apple logo and presenting them with a standard brick to see how many things they could come up with. just VIEWING the Apple logo proved a catalyst for more creative responses. here's the article.
anyway, this has always been present to me not because of advertising, but because of books.
i was raised reading books.
it was very important to my parents, and thus, therefore, heretofore, it's important to me.
and it is in books where you get to enjoy someone else's creativity, but also use your own.
yes, it's the world that someone else created, but you get to create it on your own.
the fact that there are people, like my good friend Miles, that absolutely REFUSES to ever watch the LOTR movies because he KNOWS that no one can ever create the world of middle earth that he imagined, after reading Tolkien's creation.
i love it.
people are passionate about creativity.
because people are creative.
inherently.
but all of this was brought to the presence of mind by looking at this ad.
very cool art direction.
very cool idea.
very cool creativity.
