Bill is the reason i am a writer today.
in truth, he and his works are the reason for so much about who i am and why i am.
in the sixth grade, i performed in my first play: The Scottish Play.
then, in the eighth grade, in my English class, we broke down R&J, stanza by stanza.
and, simultaneously, to understand the talent of B.S., we had to write several of our own sonnets.
so, my first venture into any sort of truly creative writing, was in sonnet form.
for awhile i had no concept of how else to write.
anyway, the reason all of this is being brought to presence of mind is that there is a new movie of his final masterpiece: The Tempest.
which i love.
not only for another great reimagining of such a fantastic storyteller's talent, but the woman doing it directed two of my other favorite movies ever: Titus and Across the Universe.
and i really love and have enjoyed time and time again ones in similar, though different for being modernized versions, R+J and Hamlet.
anywhositwhatsit, here is the trailer for The New Tempest:
i'm glad to be excited about something that will be a pleasure for the eyes, and stretch the comprehension of the mind at the same time.
Go Bill.
Go Bill Go.
